Looking Back, Looking Ahead: Years of Explosive Growth

I think most businesses would agree it has been an interesting year, and here at Boulder iQ, it’s no exception.

Coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve seen that the market has turned sharply upward. In the medical device space, companies are ramping up investment, even with inflation. For us, that has meant one word: growth.

Business expansion

Boulder iQ revenue has more than doubled over the past year, and we are nearing 50 employees. We’ve seen growth across all facets of our business, particularly in the following areas.

  • Contract ethylene oxide sterilization. Developers are responding to both the fast validation turnaround and speedy routine production we offer.
  • Contract chlorine dioxide (CD) sterilization. Our large-sized CD sterilizer is up and running. As developers realize that we truly sterilize at room temperature, providing the conditions their products need, we’re seeing more and more interest in CD. We’re currently doing validations for several clients and anticipate that we could easily reach capacity for the chamber in the next year.
  • Contract manufacturing: In addition to our strong design and development services, we are seeing additional interest in our contract manufacturing business. Developers who have come to us for sterilization are often staying for packaging and assembly.

A glimpse into 2024

As more companies discover our abilities to effectively integrate all the services a life sciences company needs to get its product to market, we will be adding more offerings to help that market introduction process move even faster. One example is our plan to introduce some off-the-shelf sterilization and packaging options, which will allow developers to further decrease the time to get validations done. Stay tuned for more details!

We are poised and prepared for 2024. If you’re ready to join us, let me know. I’d be happy to have a conversation to discuss your goals and how we can help you achieve them.
